I’ve seen that the more time a player puts into the learning side of the game then the more they will appreciate the progression of the game. Of course, you can be carried by team-mates but the rank can give a motivation to try and work towards improving your game. So why care about your rank? Well, at non-professional levels is generally indicates your skill. A top 10 player could easily lose against a top 100. While many of the players in the top 100 are competing at RLCS or RLRS levels, there is certainly no direct correlation between the two. The perfect example of that is the 3v3 ranking leaderboard. When you look at events and tournaments in Rocket League, there is always a jump between the rank of a player and the success they have in leagues and events. Remember that ranking up is only one aspect of the game to determine how good you are.
